Alleged Fulani gunman, Abdullahi Buldi, captured after the invasion of Gidan Gambo village in Lafia East development area of Nasarawa State on Tuesday morning, by the youths in the area has revealed their sponsor.
Buldi, 25 , was captured by his victims at the scene of the attack while trying to escape after the early morning attack.
LEADERSHIP reports that Fulani gunmen numbering over 100 invaded Gidan Gambo village on Tuesday morning, killing 12 people and razing over 40 houses.
Fielding questions from journalists, Buldi who was held captive by the youths at Gidan Gambo disclosed that he was caught while trying to escape with his Fulani kinsmen after an attack on the community.
He divulged that he was hired along with over 100 others by Alago people to carry out serial attacks on Eggon communities in the southern senatorial zone of the state.
He said, “I don’t know that it will turn out to be bad for me.It is my fellow Fulanimen from Keana, Azara and Obi, about 200 of us were hired to come and attack the village and kill Eggon and burn their houses.’’
When asked who hired them, he said, “The Alago people contracted us; they gave our elders N300,000 and when our elders rejected the amount. They added N100,000 and the money was taken to us at Ipkosogye where we are camping. When they gave us the money they also gave us ammunition and some new big guns they gave us food and water at the camp too ’’
Asked the location of the camp, Buldi said: “The place is at Ikposogye, we normally hide under the broken down heavy duty equipment at construction site along Ikposogye–Obi road.’’
