NUC to
accredit 80% of pragrammes in universties – Okojie

The
Executive Secretary, National University Commission (NUC), Professor Julius A.
Okojie, has reiterated the C0mmission’s commitment to ensuring that
universities in the country achieved full accreditation status for, at least,
80% of their academic programmes. Briefing participants of the 2014 Short
Course of the National Institutes for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), who
paid an education visit to the Commission, Professor Okoje stated that the NUC
was fully committed to the maintainance of a stable and crisis-free university
system. Professor Okojie highlighted the development of the National Policy on
Education (NPE) from 1925 to 1943, saying that the first colonial Policy on
education, which was developed in 1925, generally, focused on the entire
African continent.
